It's Been a While, Old Friend

Those of you who follow my blog know I hardly just have a just written post. But what I am kidding, no one follows this blog.

Between the occupy movement, finding actual work, finally graduating, and life in general, I don't have time to update this as much as I like. If you notice (people who do not follow my blog) I tend to update scans all on one day, then go back and change the dates to when I drew the sketch. There, you found me out.

Last night liberty park was raided. The one place on earth I could publicly display my art is gone. I know thinking like this is selfish. When I first came to the park on Sept. 20th, I started doing sanitation. Three weeks later I came back to DE to hostess. I starting doing research into DE tax laws for OCDE, and began to fight against H.R. 1070 & H.R. 1965. What can I say... I'm a one woman army. Not that it matters. I did strike me as I sobbed over the loss of friends and a purpose in my life while watching the other99 live feed that I was one of the few artists to sketch the tents and shanty town that was Liberty park before it was raided. Two days before the raid, in fact. With OWS marchers to DC arriving tonight I don't have time to update this image, still.

With everything else, I just want to make art. Godspeed You Black Emperor's "Dead Flag Blues" on repeat forced me to start another oil painting, the likes of which I have not attempted since I was 18.

So, void, I shout into you again. And the void shouts back:
"sugar pie honey bunch, I don't want to lose you. Can't help myself. I love you and nobody else..." and so this song on the radio reminds me.
